Spend a Year of Service in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

Founding Members of the Wyoming Service Corps

Our goal for participants is that ten months spent in community in wild, wonderful Wyoming will yield rich personal results. Corps members will share a contemplative environment in which to discern their greater place in the world. They will also enjoy opportunities to explore the extraordinary natural and social world around them.

It is in looking after others that we find our best selves. Where do we fit in this world? What is a task that we can undertake that will help us bring our world closer to the kingdom of God on earth?

Our ten-month program, On Sacred Ground, will help yield answers to these questions. There will be spiritual direction focused on bringing greater individual understanding of the divine. Daily and weekly devotions will include worship, discernment, and time for reflection as each corps member finds their way closer to our triune God. Additional worship time will be enjoyed in the greater region of Wyoming’s natural beauty.

The volunteer site placements are oriented to social and environmental justice as well as social welfare. Participants will have the opportunity to visit other sites in addition to their own. While this program seeks to assist the local community through placements in socially responsible programs, it will focus on providing opportunities for the growth of each participant vocationally, personally, and spiritually

Who we are

On Sacred Ground, the Wyoming Service Corps, is part of the national Episcopal Service Corps. Young adult corps members are invited to grow in spirit, vocation, and commitment to care for creation during their time here.

Where we are

Corps members will be immersed in the wild beauty and spiritual power of our northwestern Wyoming landscape during their service year.

What We Study

We are all on a journey and construct narratives as we travel. The compilation of those narratives creates our individual stories. Are the choices that we make as we go based on whim, or on a larger narrative – a central guiding mission?

What We do

Life during the corps member’s year will combine a rich program of service with studies in spiritual growth.
